New coach: Deion Sanders
Grade: A-
The skinny: Who knows if Coach Prime will be able to win big at the Power Five level, but this hire has gained a near unanimous level of respect nationally for a program that’s been dormant for years. On that alone, it’s an impressive choice at Colorado. Sanders had his pick of Colorado, USF and Cincinnati reportedly before landing with the Pac-12 program. And depending on what he’s able to do in the transfer portal and this recruiting cycle, Sanders could have the Buffaloes ready for bowl eligibility in Year 1.
CBS Sports: “He doesn’t have major college head coaching experience, but his ability to recruit high schoolers and transfers, develop players and market the program should put the Buffaloes on the map in a hurry.”
